FISHERS, Ind. (WTHR) - The mayor of Fishers says he's been closely watching the new IKEA in Columbus, Ohio to make sure the opening here goes smoothly this fall.
The new Columbus Ikea opened just this week.
Mayor Scott Fadness said he sent a team of people from Fishers to Columbus for the opening.
"To learn from what they experienced, and we're going to take those lessons back here," Fadness said. "We're going to preplan, we're already in the preplanning stages for any kind of traffic mitigation we can do, and we'll be ready when the day comes."
Fadness said his biggest concern is to make sure the people of Fishers are not impacted negatively on opening day.
