INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Another iconic Chicago restaurant is on its way to Indianapolis.
Lou Malnati's is planning to open a location on the north side of Indianapolis. Sasha Milosavljevich, chief real estate officer for Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, confirmed to Eyewitness News the company plans to open a restaurant at 2902 W. 86th Street.
That address is the Willow Lake West shopping plaza, which currently houses a Trader Joe's store, as well as Starbucks Coffee, Panera Bread and several other shops and restaurants.
Milosavljevich said due to uncertain times, it is not yet known when the restaurant, which will be carryout and delivery only, will open.
If all goes to plan for Lou Malnati's, the north side location won't be the only pizzeria entering the Indianapolis area.
"We do have plans to open additional locations in Indianapolis and surrounding suburbs down the road," Milosavljevich said in an e-mail.
The addition of Lou Malnati's Pizzera follows the opening of Giordano's pizza restaurants and Portillo's locations in central Indiana in recent years.
