Children's Museum, Indiana State Museum hosting family-friendly New Year's Eve events

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is hosting its "Countdown to Noon" celebration, while the Indiana State Museum is hosting its "Family New Year's Eve" event.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is the largest children's museum in the world with a 481,000 square-foot facility situated on 30 acres.

INDIANAPOLIS — If you're in search of activities to ring in the new year with your children, two Indianapolis museums are bringing back family-friendly events on New Year's Eve. 

Children's Museum of Indianapolis

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis will host its annual "Countdown to Noon" celebration on New Year's Eve. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes musical performances from Grammy-nominated children's musician Zak Morgan, a family paper time capsule activity, and festive headbands.

The event is free for members or with museum admission.

Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

The Indiana State Museum will host its "Family New Year's Eve" event from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31. The event includes face painting, photo ops, music and a dance party, and ends with a balloon drop and countdown celebration.

The alcohol-free event costs $18 per person (ages 3 and older), with a 25% discount for members. It's free for children under 3 years old.
