Events to celebrate Black History Month in central Indiana in 2024

Throughout the month of February, here's what you can do to celebrate and learn more about Black history.

INDIANAPOLIS — February marks Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements and history of African Americans. There are a number of ways to celebrate around Indianapolis.

Here are some ways Hoosiers in central Indiana can commemorate the month:

Children's Museum

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is hosting special activities with discounted ticket prices to kick off Black History Month.

From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, museum visitors can get tickets for $6 per person. The museum recommends purchasing tickets as soon as possible because space is limited and is likely to sell out.
