INDIANAPOLIS — Food champions from across the world will be racing to Indianapolis this fall when one of the biggest food competitions comes to town.

The World Food Championships announced it's changing the location for its 2024 main event, the 12th annual championship, to the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Highlights of the event include: samples from 30 vendors, live cooking demonstrated by celebrity chefs, engaging in food-related games such as "Cake or Fake," a kids zone and more.

“This is an exciting day for WFC and Food Sport in general,” said Mike McCloud, WFC’s founder and chief operating officer. “Indianapolis is a place where champions are crowned in all types of sporting events and professional leagues. That reputation, in addition to the diverse culinary scene that has blossomed over the years, makes Indy a perfect home for our Main Event, where we crown the best cooks and chefs from around the globe in iconic categories of food.”

Over the course of the competition's history, the WFC has awarded chefs over $3 million in cash and prizes.

Indy hosted the WFC Final Table in 2020, and organizers say it is one of the best spots to host the contest.

“Indianapolis is the perfect destination to host the World Food Championships, and we are very excited to serve up some great Hoosier Hospitality to the competitors, sponsors, exhibitors and food sports fans in attendance,” Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch said.

The championship weekend will take place from Nov. 8-12. Finals for the event's 12 different categories will happen Nov. 11 and 12.

There is a special offer running through Oct. 14. If you buy one general admission ticket, you get one free. Tickets range from $15-25 per day. Get you tickets here

Officials said 10% of all of the ticket revenue will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank to support local residents facing hunger and food insecurity.
