INDIANAPOLIS — It's that time of year: the Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry are making a return to Indiana.

Fans of the drink and ice cream can support a good cause, according to McDonald's, which pledged to donate 25 cents from every Shamrock Shake sold from Feb. 5 to March 18 to Ronald McDonald House Charities across Indiana.

In 2023, Indiana McDonald’s customers helped raise nearly $84,000 for RMHC, according to the company.

RMHC of Central Indiana in Indianapolis, RMHC of Michiana in South Bend, and RMHC of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne provide care, comfort and support to families, allowing them to heal together while their child receives medical care.

Included in these efforts are the Ronald McDonald Houses, which provide families a place to stay while their child receives care at a nearby medical facility.

Made with creamy vanilla soft serve, blended with Shamrock Shake syrup and topped with whipped topping, McDonald's first introduced the iconic green shake in 1970.

In 2020, McDonald’s put a twist on this delicious classic with the OREO Shamrock McFlurry. The McFlurry is served blended with crushed OREO cookies.

The Shamrock Shake and OREO Shamrock McFlurry will be available at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last.

McDonald’s customers can always support RMHC through the "Round Up for RMHC" program. With every purchase, customers have the opportunity to round up their total to the nearest whole dollar.

All of the rounded-up funds go directly to supporting RMHC, according to the company.
