INDIANAPOLIS — Tickets for one of Indianapolis's biggest Juneteenth celebrations are now available.
On Friday, June 14, the Juneteenth Foodways Festival will return to the Benjamin Harrison Presidential site, at 1230 North Delaware Street, for its third annual year. The celebration features over 30 Black-owned restaurants and caterers from the central Indiana area.
The festival honors renowned chef and caterer Dolly Johnson, who was once appointed the first Black chef in the White House by President Benjamin Harrison in 1889. Visitors can explore Johnson's with reenactments from Freedom Village and get a taste of her recipes with cooking demonstrations from Second Helpings.
General admission is free and a limited number of early access passes are available for $20.
