INDIANAPOLIS — It's not very often that a photographer gets to be a part of the story, but that's just the case for WTHR 13News photographer Alex Almanza!

After returning from a shoot Saturday night around 11:30 p.m., Almanza heard a loud meowing coming from the station parking lot. He decided to look around and find the source of the meowing, when he found a small female cat stuck in the engine bay of one of the station's cars!

Almanza called out a few others from inside the station to help him rescue the cat from the car. Once inside, the crew helped clean off grease and dirt from the her fur and helped make her comfortable.

As they debated on where to send our little friend, Almanza offered to adopt and care for her.

Now, he says she's receiving plenty of play time and food!
