INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Police is welcoming the addition of new K-9s at their Pendleton and Indianapolis districts.
Meet Ruger and Trey!
On Monday Dec. 3, Trooper Michael Thiron and Ruger and Trooper Max Kuh and Trey graduated from the ISP K-9 Academy in Indianapolis.
Superintendent Doug Carter presented each new K-9 handler their certificate of completion at the ceremony.
Ruger will join the Pendleton district and Trey will join the Indianapolis district.
"Being a K-9 handler is more than a job", said Thiron, "It's a partnership built on trust, discipline, and an unbreakable bond."
Police said the ISP K-9 Academy is a "rigorous" 12-week training program that prepares K-9 teams for a "variety of law enforcement tasks, including obedience, tracking, area and building searches, article searches, aggression control and narcotic detection."
