INDIANAPOLIS — In 2021, "WandaVision" kicked off television shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+.
Three years later, spinoff series "Agatha All Along" is premiering just ahead of the fall and Halloween season.
"It's fun, it's spooky, it's a classic adventure series," said Joe Locke ("Heartstopper"), who plays Teen.
The title character is played by three-time Emmy nominee Kathryn Hahn ("Step Brothers," "We're the Millers"), who is reprising her role as Agatha Harkness as Locke's character helps the witch break free from being trapped in a town. Now powerless, she seeks to form a new coven to get back on top.
"She is such a good actress, and to get to watch her work for six months and work alongside her was the best training anyone could ever get," Locke said. "She's so incredible and careful and caring as well. I learned so much off her."
And yes, Locke's character's name is simply Teen, and there's a lot audiences don't know about him and are likely to find out as the nine-episode limited series comes out.
"Teen is a very mysterious character, which is fun to play," Locke said. "He's definitely got secrets about him and things people will learn during the course of the series, which is exciting as an actor to get to play such a mysterious character."
Something we do know about Locke's character is that he is openly gay.
"I think it's really great that Marvel is increasing its representation on screen," Locke said. "I think Marvel is one of the few things in the world that unites everyone — no matter what your political position or beliefs are. It's really nice to have some positive, normal representation of queer characters on screen."
And joining the coven are Emmy nominee Aubrey Plaza ("Parks & Recreation," "The White Lotus") and three-time Tony winner Patti LuPone ("Evita," "Gypsy," "Company").
"They're such distinct people and distinct personalities," Locke said. "I'm a very observational person, so to get to watch all of these amazing actresses work, I'm like, 'I'm gonna steal that, I'm gonna steal that, I'm gonna steal that.'"
Locke didn't have to look far for advice on mysterious roles, as Hahn's character in "WandaVision" makes her big reveal in the series' seventh episode.
"Me and Kathryn have talked a lot about how these secrets that we have to keep are part of the fun of the show, and it's actually fun to keep them because then, the big reveal is when these secrets come out makes it so much better," Locke said.
New episodes of "Agatha All Along" are released Wednesdays through Oct. 30 on Disney+.
