NEW YORK — "Saturday Night Live" will wrap up 2024 with a couple of familiar faces.
Former cast members Chris Rock and Martin Short will host shows in December, NBC announced Monday. Rock, who appeared on "SNL" from 1990-93, will host for the fourth time on Dec. 14. Grammy nominee Gracie Abrams will make her debut as a musical guest on the show.
Short will host on Dec. 21, his fifth time in the role and his third individual hosting appearance. Currently starring in Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building," Short was a writer and performer on the show during Season 10 of the show in 1984-85 and has won two Emmy Awards and a pair of Tony Awards during his career.
Hozier will be the musical guest on the Dec. 21 show.
The Academy Award-nominated star of "Gladiator II," Paul Mescal, will make his debut as host on Dec. 7. Also making his first "SNL" appearance will be musical guest Shaboozey, whose single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-tying 19 weeks.
Abrams, who has been opening for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour, is on a worldwide tour in support of her latest album, "The Secret of Us." Hozier, who will perform as musical guest for the second time, is releasing a deluxe version of his album "Unreal Unearth" on Dec. 6.
"SNL" is planning to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend featuring a live primetime special on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025.
