Here's when new episodes of 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy!' return to Channel 13

Ryan Seacrest takes over hosting duties on "Wheel of Fortune," while Ken Jennings returns as "Jeopardy!" host, 20 years after his record-setting run as a contestant.

INDIANAPOLIS — The wait is almost over for fans of two popular game shows.

"Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" will premiere their new seasons on Monday, Sept. 9, the shows have announced.

The premiere of Season 42 of "Wheel" marks a new era on the show, as Ryan Seacrest begins his first season as host. He's taking over for Pat Sajak, who hosted more than 8,000 episodes of the show over 41 years. That tenure made him the longest-running host of a single game show in modern TV history.

There will still be a familiar face on the show though as Vanna White returns to her role revealing letters on the puzzle board.

Seacrest teased the premiere date this week on his Instagram page. One commenter gave viewers a sneak peek of the new host.

"Ryan, I went to a few of the tapings and let me just say, you did an excellent job! Your chemistry with Vanna White is great! Look forward to the new season!" the viewer wrote.

Ken Jennings returns as host of "Jeopardy!" when the quiz show premieres its 41st season on the same night as the "Wheel of Fortune" opener.

Jennings began hosting the show after the death of longtime host Alex Trebek nearly four years ago. He had shared duties with Mayim Bialik, but Sony announced in December 2023 that she would no longer be hosting the nightly syndicated version of the show.

"Jeopardy!" mentioned the Sept. 9 premiere date in a Facebook post that paid tribute to Jennings' long history on the show. It was 20 years ago that his 74-game winning streak captivated America in the summer of 2004.
