INDIANAPOLIS — Last weekend, Taylor Swift wrapped up three record-breaking shows in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium with more than 200,000 fans in attendance.
One of the most anticipated moments of the Eras Tour is the “22” hat giveaway. That’s where the pop star gifts an autographed hat to one lucky, handpicked fan.
On Sunday night, that fan was Rushville native Evy Martz.
The 11-year-old didn’t plan on going to the concert — let alone hug her idol. That’s until her mom scored last-minute tickets an hour before the show started.
After that, the surprises kept coming.
During the show, Evy’s mom, Kristen Martz, said they noticed someone filming them. Next thing they knew, they were being guided to the front of the stage.
Minutes later, Swift and her dancers came skipping down the catwalk to her iconic hit “22.”
That’s when she embraced Evy with a big hug and handed over the coveted black fedora. On the inside brim, Taylor usually writes her name and the date.
At one point in the video, you can even see Evy ask, “Are you real?” That’s when Swift laughs and says, “Yes” while proceeding to introduce herself with a handshake.
Evy also managed to give Swift one of her friendship bracelets, which the singer proudly wore for the rest of the concert.
Only 149 hats will be handed out during The Eras Tour. Without meet-and-greets, this is the only way fan can get a one-on-one experience with the singer.
