INDIANAPOLIS — Country star Kenny Chesney announced a stadium tour next year, though Hoosiers will have to make travel plans to catch it.
Chesney is getting ready for the 2024 Sun Goes Down Tour with Zac Brown Band. They'll be joined by newcomer artist Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker, whom he partnered with for the song "When The Sun Goes Down," from which the tour takes its name from.
“I wanted a name that suggested – obviously – when all the good stuff starts to happen. The one thing I’ve learned about No Shoes Nation and these stadium shows is they start the good times early and they just keep it going,” Chesney said of his 2024 tour name. “But we all know, when the sun goes down, that’s when people really get loose and enjoy themselves."
But fans in central Indiana will have to hit the road to see one of the tour stops, as Indianapolis isn't on the schedule.
The closest venues to Indianapolis are a June 15 date at Soldier Field in Chicago, a June 22 stop in Milwaukee, a show on Aug. 3 in Nashville's Nissan Stadium, and an Aug. 10 concert at Ford Field in Detroit.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 17. A special early sale for official fan club members will happen on Monday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m., and Ticketmaster will hold presales on Nov. 10. You can find more information on how to buy tickets on the tour's website.
Chesney lauded his tour mates in Tuesday's announcement, praising the unique offerings from each artist joining him.
“Zac Brown Band understands high-energy country, the same way Alabama did, and they’ve got our friend Caroline Jones in their line-up now, too,” he said. “Megan Moroney isn’t just one of the smart new voices in country, she’s really bringing a sense of heart and joy to the music – and I’m fired up to be bringing her out to No Shoes Nation. And Uncle Kracker has been part of so many fun times, crazy moments and memories made, it always kicks things up a notch when he’s out there with us. So, it really is old friends, new friends and a whole lotta love.”
