INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Fair has announced the first free stage act for this year's fair.
Rock band Dogstar will perform as part of the 2024 Hoosier Lottery Free Stage lineup on Thursday, Aug. 8. The concert on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Featuring bassist and Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, guitarist Bret Domrose and drummer Robert Mailhouse, Dogstar was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1991.
Dogstar gained popularity in the mid-1990s and broke up in 2002. The band began jam sessions in 2020 and announced its reunion two years later.
The group's latest album, "Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees," was released last October.
The theme of the 2024 Indiana State Fair is "The Art & Nature of Fun, presented by Newfields." The fair will run from Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 18, and will be closed on Mondays.
