Cathedral students, IMPD officers collaborate by making Taylor Swift friendship bracelets

The students gave the bracelets to IMPD officers, who plan to trade them with fans during Taylor Swift's concerts Nov. 1-3 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

INDIANAPOLIS — Hundreds of thousands of people will be in Indianapolis for Taylor Swift's concerts at Lucas Oil Stadium in November.

You know the fans going to The Eras Tour concerts – and those coming downtown hoping for a chance to hear her outside of the stadium – will be exchanging friendship bracelets.

Several Cathedral High School students made friendship bracelets as part of their day of service Wednesday, Oct. 16 and then gave the bracelets to IMPD officers, who plan to trade them with fans during Swift's concerts.

"We have people who are coming into town who don't even have tickets. They're just coming into town to experience the event," IMPD Asst. Chief Catherine Cummings said. "It's a big deal that our officers who are out protecting everybody are also engaged and that they enjoy the event as well."

Some of the students who made the bracelets said it was part of an even bigger service project for them.

"We want to bring joy to the community and help serve any way we can," sophomore Mckenzie Jordan said.

"It's just a great way to bring everyone together," senior Joseph Goedde said.
