Avon Marching Black and Gold take Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional championship

Here are the results of Saturday's BOA Indianapolis Super Regional Championship finals.

INDIANAPOLIS — The defending Bands of America Grand National Champions are once again on top in the world of the marching arts. 

The Avon Marching Black and Gold narrowly beat Carmel on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regionals at Lucas Oil Stadium. 

Avon scored a 92.200 rating, beating the Marching Greyhounds by 0.2. Avon also won Outstanding General Effect and Outstanding Visual Performance, while Carmel took home the Outstanding Music Performance award.

In total, eight marching bands from Indiana advanced from the morning's prelims. 

Here are the results from the BOA Indianapolis Super Regional Championship finals. Schools in bold are from Indiana:

  10. Homestead Spartan Alliance — 83.500.
  11. Fishers Marching Tiger Band — 82.700.
  12. Noblesville Marching Millers — 81.700.
  13. Choctaw High School (OK) — 81.000.
  14. Carroll Charger Pride — 80.550.
