INDIANAPOLIS — Runners across the nation are heading to the starting line to prepare for this year's OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.
On Saturday, runners filled downtown Indy roads for the first race of the 500 Festival Miler Series, a three-race series including a 3-miler, 6-miler and 10-miler to help prepare participants for the mini-marathon in May.
Here's a list of what participants can expect when they sign up for the series:
- Course support with mile markers, clocks at every mile, split timers and water stations.
- Gatorade Endurance Pit Areas.
- Course entertainment.
- All events begin and end near downtown Indianapolis.
- Post-race refreshments.
- Official results.
Those who want to take part of the miler series races do not need to be registered for the mini-marathon.
Online registration for the full series is closed, but you can still register for individual races until the week before each race.
