Disney cracking down on password sharing

User agreements for three subscription services were updated Jan. 25 to reflect the new changes.

INDIANAPOLIS — A major streaming service is starting to ban password sharing on its platform.

Following one of its top competitors, Netflix, Disney+ sent out an email Wednesday to Hulu subscribers saying it would start limiting accounts outside of subscribers' households on March 14, 2024.

This means passwords won't be able to be shared with anyone living outside of the subscriber's house, even if they are family.

The change will also affect Hulu and ESPN+ subscribers.

User agreements for all three subscription services were updated Jan. 25 to reflect the new changes.
