LOS ANGELES — Minutes after Terre Haute native Richard Goodall was named "America Got Talent" champion, the show's judges offered their congratulations on social media.
"Richard you just WON @agt!!!" judge Heidi Klum posted to X. "I knew from the first moment I saw you that you were destined be a star."
It was Klum who pressed the Golden Buzzer after Goodall's audition, sending him directly to the live shows, three performances away from a million dollars.
"So so so proud of you my Golden Buzzer," Klum's post continued. "Watching America fall in love with you like I did was the highlight of my season and I can't wait to watch you continue to shine."
"Felicidades to our #agt season 19 winner @richard.goodall," judge Sofia Vergara posted on Instagram after Goodall was revealed as the champion during Tuesday's finale.
"WE HAVE A WINNER!" judge Howie Mandel posted.
After last week's finals performance, Mandel told Goodall "I think you just sang yourself $1 million," following the singer's performance of "Faithfully" by Journey.
"Congrats to our new #AGT winner Richard Goodall!" host Terry Crews posted, also thanking viewers for watching another season of the show. "We'll see you next year for season 20!!!"
Goodall, whose day job as a janitor at West Vigo Middle School led to his "America's Got Talent" audition when video of his performance at a school talent show went viral on TikTok, won $1 million when America picked him as the winner.
Indiana's "Singing Janitor" also posted about the win on social media, sharing the show's post of the moment his victory was revealed.
