INDIANAPOLIS — Tens of thousands of Taylor Swift fans have descended on Indianapolis.
The first show in her three-concert weekend wrapped up Friday night as Indianapolis plays host to the final U.S. leg of The Eras Tour.
We've become Swift City.
"I mean, it's bigger than the Super Bowl," said fan Lacee Harney.
The Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark even posted about it on social media.
During the show, Swift informed the crowd that they had broken the all-time attendance record for a concert at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Some fans flew or drove hours to see the legendary singer take the stage. Jennie Spear and Jess Ellison were on the road for 11 hours, arriving from Oklahoma City.
"Your city stepped up and did all the things, made it so Swifty energy, it's just been amazing being here," Ellison said.
They have tickets for Saturday's concert but they spent the first day of the Indy stop singing and dancing with other fans at a Howl at the Moon's Taylor Swift event. It was one of dozens of Swift events happening around the city for fans with and without concert tickets.
"Everybody put the energy in it. I get it, you want to be in the concert, but being around other Swifties, trading bracelets and all that is just as good. It's the same vibe. It's the same energy," said Spear.
Harney doesn't have tickets right now, but she hasn't given up hope. She said she still checking for available tickets, but even if she doesn't find one she's just happy to be a part of the moment.
"There's so many people coming from afar without tickets. Worst-case scenario you have a great time in Indy doing all the events and as a local, that's what I'm doing too," said Harney.
With two nights to go, these fans said the fun is just getting started.
"I'm really happy how this city is doing everything. I love having the Swifties in town. The vibe is immaculate," said Harney.
"Come to Indianapolis this weekend. Come have fun with all the Swifties. Trade the bracelets. Even if you don't have tickets it's amazing you won't regret it," said Spear.
