Dustin Grove joined 13News, Indiana’s News Leader, as an anchor and reporter in August, 2019. In September, 2023, he began anchoring 13News at 4PM each weekday afternoon. But he's no stranger to Central Indiana, having grown up in Lebanon.
Grove has established a strong connection with central Indiana viewers over the years in newsrooms across the state. While in college, he launched his broadcasting career at WIBC-AM and Network Indiana News Service. He later moved to South Bend and reported the news at WSBT-TV where he was twice honored by the Associated Press as “Indiana’s Best Reporter.”
Grove has also served as an anchor and reporter at WLFI-TV in West Lafayette and at WISH-TV in Indianapolis.
During his career, Grove's work has taken him around the country and the world. He’s won several Emmy Awards including an Emmy for writing and another for reporting. He has also been honored for his investigative work.
Grove enjoys passing along what he has learned throughout his career to aspiring journalists. He has taught mass communication courses at Indiana University-South Bend and Purdue University's Brian Lamb School of Communication. He also spent a year teaching Speech, English and Creative Writing to high school students.
Grove graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and later from Purdue University with a Masters Degree in Communication.
In his spare time, Grove, along with his wife, enjoy cheering their three children on as they compete in school and travel sporting events. They try not to miss a Boilermaker basketball, football or volleyball game. And they also love to help out at their family’s neighborhood brewery, which opened in 2017.
