INDIANAPOLIS — We're keeping an eye on our Brown County camera for any sightings of fall foliage, but it is a little too soon right now.
To see the best color changes right now, you'll need to head north into northern Michigan or over to the hills of West Virginia in the higher elevations. There might be a few colors starting to change in northern Indiana but it isn't widespread.
We need a few things to get the most vibrant fall colors weather-wise. Those would be sunny days, cool nights, and our first frost, which typically happens in late September or early October.
With the quiet forecast with sunshine and seasonal temperatures next week, we should start to see some good colors forming.
Central Indiana's fall foliage peaks the last week of October through the first week of November.
