INDIANAPOLIS — It is another day of fog and mist in Indiana. In fact, this wide area of fog covers a good part of the nation, from western New York to Indy to Dallas, Texas.
Please use caution as you drive because at times, visibility in Indiana will be near zero. Here are some driving tips from the National Weather Service:
- Slow down, and allow extra time to reach your destination.
- Make your vehicle visible to others both ahead of you and behind you by using your low-beam headlights since this means your taillights will also be on. Use fog lights if you have them.
- Never use your high-beam lights. Using high-beam lights causes glare, making it more difficult for you to see what’s ahead of you on the road.
- Leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you to account for sudden stops or changes in the traffic pattern.
Later today, a round of rain will move into the area as we top out at 51 degrees. Look for wet pavement from both the rain and fog later today.
Friday brings a continuation of fog but without the rain. The weekend looks wet Saturday, and there is a chance for a little rain and snow Sunday.
