There are still many hours of snowfall to go and more accumulation to occur between now and Friday morning.

INDIANAPOLIS — If you're reading this is in southern Indiana and asking "where's the snow?" don't throw in the towel — the stubborn mix line that's allowed ice to accumulate is gradually sinking southeast, and once the snow switch flips, the snow accumulation will happen quickly.

Many areas along I-70 and east of I-65 have had 3-5 inches of snow today and there will be another 3 inches to locally 5+ inches by Friday morning.

Here's the bottom line: This storm is far from over, and we still feel good many areas within the adjusted 6-9+ inches of snow swath from this morning will verify — and then some.

Southern Indiana's accumulation occurs quickly this afternoon and lingers into Friday morning as snow is expected to continue well overnight. Plan on snowy roads into Friday as it will take roadcrews a long time to completely clear the snow. Blowing and drifting will not help the cause either as gusts continue near/above 30 mph.
