INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – The Indianapolis Colts debuted new looks and logos Monday, but don't worry - the iconic horseshoe is still the team's primary logo.
“The Horseshoe remains our most timeless mark," said Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Colts vice chair & owner. “These new logos – particularly our new Indiana logo – honor our rich history, cement our real and lasting connection to Indiana and embrace the exciting future that lies ahead.”
The new “Indiana” secondary logo is the letter C outlining a state map of Indiana to honor the team’s home state and community. The new secondary mark will be used to complement the horseshoe and will be featured on fan gear and integrated into the Colts uniform design.
The new word mark features letters in the same font of the Indiana C and incorporates modern elements. With this new design, the team's traditional western-style word mark becomes a historic mark and will be used primarily for throwback campaigns and gear.
The Colts jersey numbers will change slightly, adding serifs to mirror the Colts uniforms from the Baltimore days of the 1950s and 1960s.
