INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Colts placekicker Adam Vinatieri will undergo season-ending knee surgery, according to a report.
ESPN Insider Adam Schefter cited an unnamed source reporting that Vinatieri would go on Injured Reserve in a Monday morning tweet.
Monday afternoon the Indianapolis Colts confirmed Vinatieri was placed on injured reserve.
The release goes on to recap Vinatieri's 365-game career, Super Bowl wins and converting 599 of 715 field goals. Add that to his career extra points and a two-point conversion and Vinatieri scored 2,673 points.
Vinatieri has been with the team since 2006.
