CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Superstar Racing Experience, otherwise known as SRX, says it is postponing its upcoming season due to "market factors that have proven too much to overcome."
In a Jan. 11 post on social media, the series announced the upcoming fourth season of the Camping World SRX Series has been postponed. The post goes on to state that time had run out to secure the necessary funding to put on this year's scheduled events.
The series says they made the announcement Thursday to allow their partners the most time and flexibility to serve their interests. The series also says they will provide future updates as soon as they are available.
The series debuted in 2021 and featured involvement from NASCAR Championship-winning crew chief Ray Evernham, NASCAR and IndyCar champion Tony Stewart, along with long-time Speedway Motorsports Inc. executive Donald Hawk serving as the series' CEO.
SRX made one stop in the Hoosier state during its debut season. Indianapolis Raceway Park hosted the fourth round of the 2021 season. Seven-time Trans-Am champion Ernie Francis Jr. won that race, helping him land rides in the Indy NXT Series with Roger Penske's Force Indy program.
Tony Stewart was crowned the inaugural series champion. Marco Andretti won the title in 2022 while South Bend's Ryan Newman took home the championship trophy during the most recent season.
