Keith Smart's baseline jumper to win the 1987 national championship will always be remembered at Indiana.
On Sunday, Smart and his teammates will be honored during the Hoosiers game against Stetson. Twelve players, a handful of managers and an assistant coach from the title-winning team will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Indiana's most recent national championship. The most notable absence will be that of Bob Knight.
Still, it's a fitting time for the tribute, given the Hoosiers' sudden resurgence. After three straight sub-par seasons, Indiana is one win away from its first 8-0 record since 2003, and the players from the '87 team see similarities between their squad and this one.
But what the players from '87 remember most about their team was the teamwork it took to win a title.
