CARMEL, Ind. (WTHR) - Former Muncie Central and Ball State basketball star Bonzi Wells is recovering after a health scare.
Wells posted a thank you to the staff at the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana after he suffered a heart attack.
"I wanna thank these ladies for saving my life," Wells wrote on Instagram Wednesday. "They went above and beyond to make sure I would be ok."
Wells, who turns 41 on Thursday, played for 10 seasons in the NBA, mostly with the Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged 12.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in his career.
"I'm home and feeling good," he continued, "thanks to all that called and prayed for me."
