Metro Police are investigating their second murder of 2016, and second in as many days. Wesley Collins, 37, was found in the 3300 block of Hovey Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said Collins' wounds were consistent with a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene. The coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
IMPD Homicide detectives spoke with potential witnesses at the scene. Several witnesses were taken to IMPD headquarters for questioning. Detectives expect to continue to interview witnesses and ask anyone with additional information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).
