PAOLI, Ind. — A Mooresville woman was found dead over the weekend in her cell at a southern Indiana jail.
Indiana State Police is investigating the death of 54-year-old Jeanne Ross, who was found unresponsive by officers at the Orange County Jail in Paoli, Indiana, while officers were delivering breakfast around 5 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30.
The officers provided medical aid and requested EMS, but Ross was not able to be revived. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Results of an autopsy, which was conducted Sunday, Dec. 31, and toxicology tests are pending, and the investigation into Ross' death is ongoing.
Ross had been transported to the Orange County Jail from Hendricks County Jail on Dec. 26 on a warrant for failure to appear, according to investigators.
