Georgia Peach Truck returning to Indiana with one of its best crops yet

2019's peach crop is the best in years, according to Matthew Pond from The Peach Truck.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Peach lovers, listen up!

2019's peach crop is the best in 20 years, according to Matthew Pond from The Peach Truck. So that means this year's Georgia peaches could be better than the peaches thousands of Hoosier lined up for last June! Yes, the impossible may now be true.

The Peach Truck is coming to central Indiana on Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday, July 11.

This tour has grown considerably since 2012 when tour creator Stephen Rose brought his peaches up from Fort Valley, Georgia to sell out of the back of his Jeep in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife, Jessica. Now the Peach Truck makes stops in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas, Florida and right here in Indiana.

The fresh Georgia peaches are available by the half bushel, which is a 25-pound box for $42. You can eat 'em, bake 'em, can 'em or freeze 'em! Leave your cash at home because they only accept credit & debit cards.

And be prepared to wait in line. The cars were backed up for 30 minutes at Bennett's Greenhouse in Lafayette on Tuesday morning. (No one seemed to mind, though.)

You can also purchase The Peach Truck Cookbook and bags of Georgia pecans.
