INDIANAPOLIS — AES Indiana says they are cutting customers a break as the winter moratorium is set to end Friday.

According to a Thursday news release, AES Indiana will not disconnect customers or charge late fees through March 31. Indiana's winter moratorium, which prevents utility companies from disconnecting services if the customer receives or qualifies for financial assistance from the Energy Assistance Program (EAP), is set to end March 15.

The winter moratorium exists to help customers during colder months with customized payment plans.

AES says they encourage all customers to pay their bills in a timely manner, but customers in need of a payment plan can call 317-261-8222.
