Brownsburg school district taking action after students pose with racial slur

The image posted to Snapchat, quickly made the rounds on the chatter pages in Brownsburg before being shared more widely.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WTHR) — Brownsburg Community School Corporation tells 13News that students are facing "swift and appropriate discipline" for a picture in which they are posing with a racial slur.

The image posted to Snapchat quickly made the rounds on the chatter pages in Brownsburg before being shared more widely.

In the image, the students were seen with the racial slur written in chalk on the pavement in front of them.

13News reached out to the school district and received the following response:

We are aware of this situation involving BHS students. This type of behavior is disappointing, insensitive, offensive, not acceptable, and not representative of our community or our students. We have identified these individuals and are moving forward with swift and appropriate discipline.

13News is not identifying the students as they are minors.
