Police say a two-year-old boy accidentally shot his mother with a semi-automatic handgun Wednesday morning in Hendricks County.
Police say they responded to shooting in the 6400 block of U.S. 36 around 9:20 a.m.
A 5-year-old was also home at the time and was able to call his grandmother for help. The grandmother then called 911. Medics took the mother to an Indianapolis hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
The two children in the home were not injured.
Child Protective Services and the Hendricks County Sheriff’s continue to investigate the shooting.
