DALLAS, Texas (WTHR) - An international movie theater company announced the U.S. debut of a dedicated children’s movie theater - Cinépolis Junior.
Families can go to a cinema that caters to children, with rooms that offer a play area, comfortable seating in bean bags and lounge chairs, and vibrant décor.
The first two Cinépolis Junior auditoriums are scheduled to open March 16 in Southern California, with mixed reviews.
They will set about 130 people, but also feature playscapes with slides and other playground equipment like swings and a smaller merry-go-round.
Ticket prices will include an additional surcharge to the average cost of a Cinépolis USA premium movie ticket, according to a media release from Cinépolis.
Families will be permitted to enter the auditorium 15 minutes before the film begins to allow for early play time and settling in.
Concessions will offer popcorn flavored with Cheetos, Chili, Caramel and Zebra and other unique foods.
The concept first opened in México, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Spain.
