Zionsville mother who shot at police found guilty

Lauren Cupp was walking with her children to the neighborhood pool when police tried to serve a warrant.

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — A Zionsville mother is waiting to be sentenced for shooting at police after a jury convicted her.

Lauren Cupp was found guilty on two charges of resisting law enforcement and two charges of neglect of a dependent for the incident on Memorial Day.

Cupp was with her children walking to the pool in the Royal Run neighborhood, which is located off Interstate 65 near Whitestown and Zionsville. She had an active warrant for her arrest stemming from a trespass and battery case in Hancock County.

After receiving a tip about Cupp's whereabouts, police visited the neighborhood to serve the arrest warrant. That's when she ran with her children before firing a shot at police and leaving her children behind.
