Police: Fight between roommates led to deadly Lafayette shooting

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Drexel Drive, near Brady Lane and South 18th Street.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Lafayette police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting early Thursday.

Around 2:30 a.m. Jan. 11, Lafayette Police Department officers responded to the 2300 block of Drexel Drive, near South 18th Street and Brady Lane on the south side of the city, for reports of a shooting.

An investigation indicated that a man was shot and killed during a fight between roommates, police said. 

The Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office will identify the man once family has been notified.

"All people involved in the incident have been accounted for, and there is no danger to the public at this time," police said in a statement.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
