FISHERS, Ind. — Fishers police arrested a 34-year-old man from Indianapolis at a Shelbyville casino Wednesday after he allegedly robbed a gas station earlier that morning.
Police said the man told a clerk at the Circle K gas station at 96th Street and Allisonville Road he would shoot them if he was not given the money shortly before 6 a.m. Jan. 3.
The employee called 911 after the man left the store.
(NOTE: 13News does not name suspects until charges have been filed by prosecutors.)
Surveillance video from the gas station provided police with a description of the man’s car.
Police used the FLOCK license plate reader camera system to locate the suspect’s car and found the man at a casino in Shelbyville.
Police said the man admitted to the robbery, and he was arrested on preliminary robbery and theft charges.
The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office will make the formal charging decisions.
