INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a child was shot and left in critical condition on the east side of Indianapolis on Friday.
Just before 1 p.m., IMPD officers responded to a report of the shooting in the 5200 block of 21st Street, near Emerson Avenue.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the child who had been shot and took them to the Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition.
The shooting came just over an hour after a deadly shooting only a few minutes away near 21st Street and Post Road.
