WHITESTOWN, Ind. — An employee at the Whitestown Amazon fulfillment center has been charged with stealing nearly $90,000 worth of electronics.
According to our newsgathering partners at the Lebanon Reporter, Byaombe Asukulu, 27, of Indianapolis, has been charged with felony theft in Boone County after allegedly stealing high-end cellphones from a special section of the warehouse.
Court records show the warehouse reportedly recovered only $7,000 worth of the cellphones after an internal investigation in April.
Asukulu was fired from the Amazon warehouse following the results of the internal investigation. He was also allegedly caught on video taking the phones.
According to online court records, Asukulu currently has an active warrant for his arrest in Boone County.
