PLAINFIELD, Ind. — A hotel under construction in Plainfield went up in massive flames Sunday morning, forcing several fire departments to help put out the blaze.
Around 6 a.m. May 19, the Plainfield Fire Territory responded to a building fire in the 6000 block of Gateway Drive, near Interstate 70 and Quaker Boulevard.
Firefighters arrived to the scene of the hotel under construction and determined it to be a two-alarm fire, prompting more help from nearby agencies like the Washington Township/Avon Fire Department and Wayne Township Fire Department.
The blaze took firefighters around two hours to get under control. No injuries were reported.
The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
