INDIANAPOLIS — The Howard County Coroner's Office confirmed family has identified a man who was found dead at a car wash.
Around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, July 5, the coroner's office was called to the 2300 block of West Sycamore Street, near North Dixon Road, in Kokomo in reference of a death investigation of a John Doe who had been found at the car wash.
The coroner's office described the John Doe as a white man with short brownish-gray hair and a short beard and mustache. He was dressed in a pair of black and yellow-colored swim trunks, a black-colored backpack and a pair of gray and blue tennis shoes. He is 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds.
"The name is not being released at this time pending notification of the legal next of kin," Howard County Coroner Dr. Steven J. Seele said. "Thank you to everyone for your concerns and help that lead to the identification of the decedent. Thank you to the media agencies for your coverage and the exposure that you provided."
The coroner's office said the man has several tattoos that include the initials “KAW” and a wolf’s face on his right upper arm, a large cross on the left upper arm and an animal skull with horns on his right calf.
Foul play is not suspected in the man's death, according to the coroner's office. An autopsy was conducted Monday, July 8, with his cause of death pending lab work and toxicology.
